Japanische Kampfhörspiele's Luxusvernichtung can pass unnoticed by most people, mainly because everything is screamed and hollered in German, and because most of the songs don't come close to the one minute mark (in real, old school Grindcore fashion), but if you're into bands like Hewhocorrupts, Melt Banana, or even early Pig Destroyer, you must get this album. Supposedly, it's composed of 54 short poems, which I guess they're mostly socio-political, and while I may not understand a single word, the music speaks volumes. This is angry, fast paced, Thrash-tingled, old school Grind with some Hardcore/Punk elements. The vocal style goes from Flattbush/Melt Banana inspired yelps and hollers to guttural, Lee Dorrian screams, which may offset some listeners, but I like it, so fuck them. Lots of chunnky, angular riffs, shifts, and everything that could make the most apathetic underground music fans to frantically bang their dandruff covered heads. The drumming is super tight. Everything from the fastest blast beats to the more mid-tempo rhythms are performed effectively and cleanly, which helps a band with this particular sound to shine. And that's the main thing about a Grindcore band, they could have the most well thought lyrics, the most intricate riffs, but if their drummer is not tight and fast enough, the music wouldn't make the same impact as an average Grindcore band with a really good drummer.
I can't pick any particular song off this album, since every song connects with each other, meaning that you have to listen to this album in it's entirety. If you can't deal with the awkward vocal delivery of "JaKa", there's a bonus track featuring all the 54 songs without vocals, so if you're one of those fucks who complain about Death Metal/Grindcore bands being "too Metal/too weird", you can still enjoy the music. And if you don't, go back to your bedroom and cut your wrist while listening to Dashboard Confessional.
